About Us

Our mission is to provide a quality childcare experience that helps your child develop physically, socially, and emotionally.

Academic Environment:
Students are taught in self contained classrooms with 8 or 12 children, a special education teacher and teaching assistant.  This small, highly structured, environment fosters the student's ability to thrive academically and meet the New York State Learning Standards.

Emphasis is placed on dynamic and highly engaging teaching methodology.  Integrating dance, drumming, music and drama helps to sustain the attention of students who have difficulty with tasks that require prolonged concentration.  A multi-sensory approach to reading instruction is provided, which targets specific reading deficits.  The Junior Great books series is used to help develop critical thinking skills.  All students are provided with instruction in art, music, physical education and computer technology to supplement the core subject areas.

Career Education:
Older students participate in our career education program, which gives them the opportunity to learn about the multitude of employment options as well as develop resume writing and job interviewing skills.  Some students are offered the opportunity to have on the job experience, either on-site or in the community.

Special Services:
All students receive individual and group counseling, provided by licenses Social Workers.  Where indicated in the Individual Education Plan, some students receive Speech and Occupational therapy.  A staff of specially trained individuals is available to assist in implementing behavior intervention plans where necessary.

All students may take advantage of our six week summer program.  Summer school is offered each year to maintain the progress made during the year.
